Lately, Rebecca has been very specific about clarifying what she means. For example, the other day she was set on having candy. She kept asking & asking & asking, when each time I offered a different option. Finally it came down to this:Mommy: Okay, fine. Would you like a piece of candy?
Rebecca: NO!
Mommy: You don't want a piece of candy?
Rebecca: No. Not a PIECE of candy, a BIG candy.

She's also been very particular about what people call her & her little sister. I guess I didn't realize how often I use nicknames around here! Here's a sample of what I've heard probably 20 times in the last two days:
Mommy: Hi, peanut!
Rebecca: I not "peanut", I "Becca"!
***
Mommy: (to Teresa) You're sure a sweetie, kiddo.
Rebecca: She not "kiddo", she "Teresa"!

Ha ha! I get the same thing from my own two year old. "I NOT cutie-pie. I Isaiah!"
ReplyDeleteStephen does this, too: You're so cute. NO. I'm Stephen.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, and Anthony would respond likewise if you said, "See you later, alligator!"
