On our ride to school last week, I was taken aback by how Andrew still looks at the world with awe. I love it. It made me look at him & just melt. Darren generously stays with the girls before leaving for work in the morning so that (I don't have to get them both dressed & out the door, too) we can have that few minutes just us two. First it was,
"Look, Mom! A huge frog in the road!"
Actually, it was a chunk of dirty ice off of someone's car.
Then he started talking about Heaven. He likes to remark how when so-and-so gets to Heaven, there will be two St. ___s. Since he knows about St. Andrew the Apostle plus the family Andrews he was named after, he thought,
"We could have a whole football team of St. Andrews & St. Ondrejs in Heaven!"
He was marvelling at how humongous the black crows look in our world of white snow. I had to marvel right along with him. As he hopped out of the van & skipped up the sidewalk, he turned & waved, smiling his great big grin. That beautiful morning God gave me a special chance to recognize the wonderful gift of our son. I hope He smiles down on us the same way. ;)
