Raptors!

Last year the whole family "strolled" together for a local charity run/walk. Just five people on a team to finish 3K & $50 goes to your favorite charity. It was kind of nice to do as a family, but when you're pushing non-jogging strollers 3K takes... a while. ;) This year Darren opted to hang out with the girls while Andrew & I took on the challenge. We "trained" a little, but I was mostly banking on his semi-ceaseless energy to get him to the end. It did! Actually, I had to look at him a few times & ask, "Don't you want to walk for a little while?" I guess Mommy needs a little more endurance training. We probably ran at least 3/4 of it, which is more than I was expecting! We came in when the clock said 24 minutes... though I think that has an extra 5 minutes from our actual start time. The train yard is just down the road & we kept hearing the cars as they bumped into each other to couple together. One team took the opportunity to yell, "Look out for the raptors!" each time. It really did sound just like on Jurassic Park when the velociraptors were just around the next tree. Hilarious!

It was fun to do together, we earned cool T-shirts & slap bracelets, & made a simple but valuable donation to CSS. We'd love to have you join us next year!
