Navidad en julio

Since so many of our friends were celebrating, we decided that we needed to have a little bit of Christmas in July as well. Actually we decided on July 31st, so it ended up being more of a Christmas in August sort of thing. (This is the BEST picture I have taken of the kids in a long time... too bad we'll probably look at it later & think it's December!)

We decorated the sidewalks with Christmas drawings... can't do that in December! Somehow it morphed into Easter eggs & drawings for other holidays

& Teresa riding the bike.

We put up the tree, stockings, & Nativity set. We made snowflakes to hang on the wall. We ventured to Dollar Tree for the kids to buy presents for eachother & wrap them.
Rebecca was thrilled with the fairy/angel/butterfly wings that Andrew picked out for her.

Andrew loved a airplane/car air launcher that Rebecca picked out for him.

Teresa loved the big bubble wand they got for her so much that she had it broken 10 minutes after it was open. :( Actually, all three gifts are in a sad state already, but I guess that's why they were only a dollar! Still worth the fun of giving each other gifts. We sang Christmas songs, read Christmas books, & watched the St. Nicholas video for three days straight. To wrap up our week of excitement we had some friends over for a Christmas party. There was lots of hot cocoa, candy canes, & cookies. We had Christmas music on the stereo & gifts of toys to give to CSS. With the big kids we played Hot Present (now it makes more sense why a potato works better...throwing in a hurry a box with pointy corners is a bad idea), Snowball Rolling, & had a snowball fight (with cottonballs).

I think Jesus deserves a half birthday celebration everywhere, don't you? We had a joyous holiday! Thanks to all who joined in the fun!
