Eight is great

My baby boy is eight.  EIGHT!  It's so hard to believe.  He's quite the guy!  He wanted to make camo cupcakes for his birthday treat at school the day before.

 They turned out pretty cool!
He decided to top them off with army guys.  Perfect.  I did a slight panic when I realized I was sending 20 miniature guns to school... but no worries.  I love teachers who aren't so shielded from reality!
This was also the day that they received their scapulars as a sign of their preparation for 1st Holy Communion.  Such a special day!

We had just a few long-time buddies over to play after school.  My goodness they have changed in just a year!  It was quite the wild one.  They really had fun, though.

Notice the boys "Tebowing" in the front?
Saturday was his actual birthday, so we celebrated with pancakes.

I found these football pants & pads at a garage sale for $2!  What a well spent couple of dollars.  He loves them.
After a full day of fun, we went out for supper at Val's, which by the way was awesome.  Apparently, they don't have the full buffet on home game days, so they charged half-price!  It was still way more than we could eat.  Fun, tasty, & economical... my three favorite qualities.

All were pleased.
Happy Birthday, Bubba!
You will forever be this tiny in my heart, but I love you even more now than then.
More celebrating to come.
