For our last house meeting (which was also the day before Rebecca's birthday) we decided to have some fun kid-friendly competition.

We broke into two teams & raced to complete a series of tasks: build a tower out of blocks taller than Rebecca & then sing to her, complete two 50 piece puzzles,

correctly identify our ABC saint dolls, & egg race 20 eggs from one bucket to the other on a spoon. Hilarious!

To top it off each team wrote a song about GodTeens this year & had to perform it. That was supposed to be the tie-breaker, but they were both so amusing we decided that everyone was a winner. (a.k.a. Everyone take home a cup full of leftover Easter candy for your prize! That's one way to clear it out.)

This year has flown by! We've loved getting to know these kids. Our kids love them, too. It's so exciting being there to see them grow in their faith & learn to recognize the practical implications of it. They make us laugh, make us think, & make us pray. We're not ready to be the parents of teenagers yet, but this is kind of like training! Have you been GodParents at your parish? What did you take away from the experience? If you haven't yet & ever get the chance, I highly recommend it!
